Once fired, .30-06 bullets are converted into Cross® style ball point pens. Our .30-06 pens are real bullet cartridges from .30-06 bullets. These cartridges were acquired from a recent trip to the local shooting range for target practice. These cartridges were cleaned and polished to a bright brass shine with SimiChrome Polish, and inserts were made by hand to create our .30-06 bullet pens. The brass will patina with age and exposure, but the brass can easily be polished back to its original bright and shiny brass with more SimiChrome Polish or Brasso Metal Polish.
The .30-06 Springfield cartridge (pronounced “thirty-aught-six” or “thirty-oh-six”), 7.62×63mm in metric notation and called “30 Gov’t 06” by Winchester was introduced to the United States Army in 1906 and later standardized; it remained in use until the early 1970s. The “.30” refers to the caliber of the bullet, and the “06” refers to the year the cartridge was adopted—1906. The .30-06 remained the U.S. Army’s primary rifle and machine gun cartridge for nearly 50 years before being replaced by the 7.62×51mm NATO (commercial .308 Winchester) and 5.56×45mm NATO, both of which remain in current U.S. and NATO service. The .30-06 remains a very popular sporting round, with ammunition produced by all major manufacturers.
A constant stock of all variants is not always available. We will make these to order as required if stock is not available. A two week turn around may be required for the manufacture of your desired configuration.
